Centre for International Pedagogical Research and Scholarship

Background and aims

The Centre for International Pedagogical Research and Scholarship (CIPRAS) was established in the School of Education, University of Sheffield, to facilitate and enhance global thinking and thought exchange around pedagogy. Our students and staff come from a multitude of backgrounds, and our research and scholarship partnerships stretch around the globe. The University of Sheffield originated the #weareinternational campaign - an acknowledgment and celebration of strength in togetherness. CIPRAS aims to provide an opportunity for collaborative learning, enhancing pedagogical thinking by bringing people around the globe together.

CIPRAS facilitates this work at two levels - by organising a series of talks and discussions, which will be planned depending on the basis of available expertise and topical interest, as well as through longer-standing collaborations with specific organisations, potentially incorporating a series of talks or training. All public events scheduled by the centre will be run online, to ensure equitable participation - times of sessions may vary according to presenters and their time zones. Through the centre, we hope to provide an opportunity for current and past students to remain connected to the School of Education, and for our research and scholarship partnerships to have a "home" for the dissemination of work. If you would like to connect with us, please let us know.
